Confidentiality is a crucial aspect of maintaining a safe environment in which to address the often highly personal and sensitive matters surrounding an addictive disorder, and is the foundation on which all our therapeutic work is built. Anyone contacting Charter in relation to seeking help for an addiction problem can be assured that anything they disclose will be treated in complete confidence.
Charter will not share information about any client's assessment, treatment or other dealings with Charter with any outside body or person except with his or her express consent. The only exception to this is when we have a legal obligation to disclose knowledge relating to certain criminal offences or the threat of imminent harm to individuals under our care.
Charter's staff and clients are required to respect the confidentiality of all clients at Charter, both while in treatment and subsequently, and are under contract not to disclose names of clients, any details of their treatment, or any information they may disclose whilst at Charter.
