Mandy Saligari
Mandy was educated at Kent College, Pembury. She started in 1990 running groups at the Charter Nightingale Hospital in London, and has since established herself as a specialist in addiction counselling, currently working from her own practice in both Harley Street and Kent. She has attended a number of courses over the years to support her experience in addiction treatment with a particular interest in group facilitation, family intervention, relationship counselling, psychodrama and art therapy.
Alongside her growing practice, Mandy has worked with Anthony McLellan at The McLellan Practice for many years as a co-facilitator and on Interventions. As a direct result of her interest in adolescents and her charismatic approach, Mandy is firmly established in the Independent School sector as a motivational speaker on drugs, bullying and addiction for McLellan’s Presentations for Schools programme.
In 2007 Mandy was appointed Treatment Director at The Promis Recovery Centre's day care in London, working with families and individuals at both primary and secondary care stages, leaving in spring 2008.
Coming from a media background spanning a decade as a journalist and commercials producer, Mandy is forthright in her experience that addiction treatment works. Always interested in new perspectives and dedicated to challenging the complacency that surrounds this condition, Mandy is currently involved in supporting the development of Writing as Therapy as a specific intervention in addiction treatment.
Mandy has recently contributed to a book called 'Finding Mr Right' by Annie Harrison, published by JR Books in May 2009.
