Treatment Assessment

Assessment

Your first step is to contact us for an assessment. During this one-to-one consultation meeting you will have the chance to discuss your problem with an experienced counsellor and be advised of your options for treatment. Where clients are not suited for our programme, we have extensive referral relationships with treatment centres around the world: the team at Charter is highly experienced in fitting the client to the right treatment programme based on their needs and budget, and will give you unconflicted and uncomplicated advice about your best options.

The aim of an assessment is not to judge you, but to gain a balanced view of your situation (for us and for you) and to give you advice on the best possible way forward. It involves no commitment on your part, but you will leave with a much clearer idea of the next steps that are open to you, a greater perspective on your situation and a sense of relief that you have taken your first steps towards feeling better already.

An assessment gives us the chance to tell you what we consider your best options to be, but more importantly gives you the chance to tell us about your difficulties and go through any concerns you may have – not only about any difficulties you are having with an addictive process but about your life circumstances, where you are at the moment in terms of your personal situation, family and work, and where you would like to be. It is very usual for people to feel nervous about coming to a therapy clinic to discuss their difficulties, perhaps for the first time: rest assured that you will be received in a friendly and non-judgemental environment, and that we are here to help you get some peace of mind and clarity around your situation; you have nothing to lose.

If, following the assessment meeting, you do choose to take up treatment at Charter, the assessment is free of charge – otherwise, there is a standard fee for the hour's session. Contact us for more details or to make a booking.
